Hempfield Area Sertoma

 

     Sertoma International is a volunteer civic service organization with about 20,000 men and women members who belong to 700 Clubs in the US, Canada, and Mexico.  Sertoma stands for SERvice TO MAnkind.  The primary service project is helping the more than 42 million people with speech and hearing disorders.

Our Club History…..
     Hempfield Area Sertoma Club was officially chartered as the Penn Manor Sertoma Club April 18, 1973.  There were a total of 27 charter members and the sponsor club was the Conestoga Club.
     In the early 80's, the club began meeting in the Landisville area and was known then as the Landisville Sertoma.  Landisville Sertoma became Hempfield Area Sertoma during the 1988/89 year.  The first president was Mark Landis.  For over 30 years, Hempfield Area Sertoma Club has continued to support the community with monetary donations, scholarship awards, and by organizing a Inter-mural soccer tournament held each fall to support Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic.
